FINANCIAL INCENTIVES
For Residential Housing Development
In June 2023, Cook Shire Council adopted and announced a Residential Housing Development Incentive Policy that offers substantial financial incentives to stimulate housing development within the Shire. Designed to address housing shortages and support community growth, the policy applies to all new residential housing projects.
Developers, builders, and property owners can receive up to $35,000 for multiple dwellings or dual occupancy developments and up to $10,000 in rates relief for single dwellings on vacant land for owner-occupiers.
This policy is available until 30 July 2025, or until the cumulative incentive value of $250,000 is reached.
