MARTON SWING BRIDGE

The Marton Swing Bridge is a project targeting the serviceability of the swing bridge located between Starke Street and Railway Avenue at Marton just outside Cooktown.

Starke Street and Railway Avenue, Marton

Scope:

The project aims to replace the decking units along the bridge with composite material replacements and rebuild the abutments both sides with minor improvements to the drainage on the western end for ease of access.

The project requires no design as the decking and abutments of the bridge are being replaced with like-for-like components. This project will serve the community by restoring the serviceability of the swing bridge. The swing bridge is used primarily by school students travelling to and from the bus stop during school days.

    Budget:

    Anticipated Total Project Budget = $ 250,000
